The next chapter of the Girls Positive and Safe Coaching Pathway is underway.
On 14 July 2026, five Regional Trainers from across the globe came together for the first time to kick off the third implementation cycle of the programme. Bringing together expertise from Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas, the session marked the beginning of another year dedicated to strengthening the capacity of coaches to create safe, inclusive, and empowering sporting environments for girls and women.
This year’s Regional Trainer team includes Rohan Pereira, Gorata Kgathi, Fathime Tibu, Mayssa Bsaibes, and Danisha Bratwaite, who will each work closely with a group of Implementing Partners throughout the cycle. Together, they will mentor organisations, support the delivery of Training of Trainers (ToT) workshops, and help ensure the consistent, high-quality implementation of the Pathway across multiple countries and communities.

The onboarding session provided an opportunity to reconnect, align on expectations for the year ahead, and discuss the evolving needs of partners on the ground. Regional Trainers were briefed on programme updates, monitoring and evaluation requirements, reporting processes, and their role in supporting organisations throughout implementation. The session also created space to exchange experiences, discuss regional contexts, and share ideas for strengthening delivery across diverse settings.
At the heart of the Pathway is a cascading capacity-building model. TAFISA equips Regional Trainers, who in turn support Implementing Partners to deliver Training of Trainers workshops. These workshops prepare Local Trainers to deliver the programme’s evidence-based curriculum – including the mandatory Coaching Girls Guide, Body Confidence in Sport, and Safeguarding in Sport for All modules – to coaches working directly with girls and women.
With the onboarding now complete, Regional Trainers have been introduced to their respective Implementing Partners, and preparations for the upcoming Training of Trainers workshops are already underway.
As the Girls Positive and Safe Coaching Pathway enters its third implementation cycle, this growing international network continues to demonstrate the power of collaboration in advancing gender equity through coaching. Together, TAFISA, Nike, Regional Trainers, Implementing Partners, and Local Trainers are building a global community committed to ensuring that every girl can experience sport in a safe, positive, and empowering environment.
